Rite Aid End-of-the-Year Clearance

I did not sleep well last night. I had this dream where i was in a race...and I had to complete chemistry problems before I could move to the next station.  So stressful...clearly a nightmare from my undergraduate days of being a chemistry major.   Ugh.

I went to Rite Aid today because I read on NouveauCheap's blog that they were having an end-of-the-year clearance sale (similar to CVS). My goal was to get some of the Sally Hansen nail strips for Christmas presents (original price: $9.79. 75% off= $2.45). This particular store didn't have the yellow stickers.  I had to go up to the register to ask the lady to check the price.  She seemed really annoyed about that.  Well, geeze, a) I ended up buying them anyway so it's not like you were wasting time and b) if you had those scanners around the stores like CVS, I wouldn't have to ask.  Oh, whatever.  I got what I was looking for.
After going to Rite Aid, I walked over to Michaels (didn't find anything that I wanted there) and to Kohl's.  I walked by the fragrance section and spritz Juicy Couture on myself.  Hey, not bad.  At the same time, one of the sales clerks was helping a male customer find a perfume.   "Oh, here it is," she said as she picked up the same bottle that I put down.  He thanked her and gave it a sniff.  "Oh, this stinks."  "Oh, I don't think it's bad at all!"  I felt like I had to say something.

Mom made some fried rice with some of the turkey leftovers from Thanksgiving.  Julie brought it over earlier this evening.  Someone wanted a bite too.

Black Friday Shopping

I didn't go out after Thanksgiving dinner or stay out late at night to get the deals that I was looking for.  I instead slept in, ate pie for breakfast (Robyn concurred that it was a great idea since there's fruit in there), and then headed out.  After going to 2 Rite Aids and 1 Walgreens, I came away with 2 EOS lip balms, 2 containers of Almond Roca (one peppermint, one regular), and 2 CoverGirl nail polishes.  The CoverGirl nail polishes were $5.99 each, and I had a $3.00 off 2 CG products coupon and Rite Aid was having 25% off CG products.  I basically got 2 polishes for $6.00 (Forever Frosted and Midnight Magic).  Woot! :) Currently wearing Nicole by OPI's What's the Mitch-uation?
Forever Frosted (left), Midnight Magic (right)
I came home and did some online gift shopping.  No lines, no crowds, and free shipping.  I also framed a bunch of pictures that I'm giving away as gifts.  It was a pretty productive afternoon!  I took the leftovers that I brought home last night and went to my parents' house to eat them.  The container was theirs anyway.  I would have had to return it at some point.  Plus, I ate the pie that I bought home with me.  I had to go back for more.

Happy Thanksgiving!

My uncle and aunt went to their son-in-law's family's house for Thanksgiving dinner instead of hanging out with us. So, it was just Mom, Dad, Julie, my friend Robyn, 4 cousins and me. Julie came over before dinner to make mashed potatoes and roasted sweet potatoes. My mom's oven and my cousin's oven were both in use. Good thing I don't live that far away!

I decided to go to Redbox and get a movie to bring along with me to my parents' house so we could watch it.  I chose The HeatRobyn, Julie and I watched it after all my cousins left to go home.  Typical Melissa McCarthy with the profanity and physical comedy.  It had a few laughs and some unexpected violence.  I'd was hoping for something with better quality since Sandra Bullock was in it.  Overall, nothing that I'd buy or see again.

I reserved the movie online and then went to pick it up.  The people that were already at the machine clearly didn't reserve their movie online ahead of time because they looked at every screen to pick out a movie.  GAH.  The person in the car waiting for them called out at one point and then when he saw that 2 people were also waiting for the machine, he honked the horn.  He got the middle finger in response.  Well, that wasn't helpful.

Here are some pictures from the evening...hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! :)
Group photo before chowing down.
Robyn bought an apple pie from Costco, per my request.  I thought it'd round out the dessert selection very nicely.  I brought the pumpkin cheesecake and my cousin made a flan-y dessert.
By using a handmixer, the cheesecake consistency was much smoother than last year's cheesecake.

Shopping Luck at New York & Company

I got a promotional email from New York & Company last night, informing me that they'd have secret gift cards to the first 100 customers, in varying amounts.  Each store had two $100 gift cards to give out.  When I got out of bed and finished eating breakfast, it was close to 10:30 AM (the store opened at 10).  I figured it'd be worth trying my luck.  When I got to the store, I realized that they weren't giving the gift cards at the door, but at the cash register when you checked out.  Ah, ok.  I knew there would be a catch.  As I was looking around, one of the cashiers rang a bell and yelled "$100!!"  Hah, that's great!  So it wasn't just a gimmick to get people in.  I mean, it was, but at least they were being truthful.

I picked out 2 dress pants (one navy, one black) because the ones that I have are too loose-fitting and not very flattering.  They rang up $23.48...even though the sign said $29.  I was already happy.  Then when the lady gave me the secret gift card, I tore off the top label and it said $25!  I basically got a pair of pants for free!  That's just nuts.  Yay! :)

When I got home, I got working on the pumpkin cheesecake that I'm bringing to my family's Thanksgiving dinner.  I learned my lesson from last year and used a hand mixer instead of my KitchenAid to get real smooth cream cheese instead of slightly chunky.  Fingers crossed that it's totally yummy for tomorrow. :)

Nail Polish Crisis Averted

While I was out today (day off work, yay!), I went to TJMaxx and saw that they had some new Essie nail polishes out.  They were the magnetic series where you put on the nail polish and use the magnet that it comes with to create a design on your nail.  I grabbed two colors and continued walking around the store.  Hmm, $5.  That's a little much for a nail polish, in my opinion.  I decided to quickly look up reviews on my phone and none of the reviews were that great.  I put them back on the shelf.  Whew, saved $10 there.  I'd be upset if I bought nail polish that didn't perform...especially for $10!

I got my renewed driver's license in the mail today.  I was shocked because I was expecting it to take forever, as most things with the DMV usually take.  But, no, I was pleasantly surprised since I only completed the online form last Thursday

Gold Christmas Card

I wasn't planning to make a card tonight, but I was inspired by this holiday border set that I bought on clearance earlier this year for 70 cents, tee hee.  I went with the embossing powder kick that I've been on lately.  Here's the holiday card that I came up with.  Pretty simple, but I think the gold and pops of color and glitter make it elegant.
Card Specs:
Embossing powder: Personal Stamp Exchange- Detail Gold
Embossing ink: VersaMark
Stamps: Hero Arts- Swirl Christmas (sentiment), Inkadinkado- Winter Borders
Card base: Recollections
Punch: We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper
Other: Liquid Pearl in Rouge.  Stickles.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Food: I made my fall staple this evening...pumpkin chocolate chip pound cake.  One loaf for me and one loaf to take to the office tomorrow.

I also made a batch of sweet potatoes this morning.  I'm so ready for Thanksgiving food! :D
Etsy: When I got home from grocery shopping, I was looking in my purse and couldn't find my phone.  I was almost starting to panic, and then I heard the cha-ching iPhone notification so I knew that the phone had to be in the house somewhere.  Oh, it was on the kitchen table.  Whew!  I sold the the set of little cars I bought at a yard sale this past summer.

2013 Holiday Craft Show #1

Today was Holiday Craft Show #1 of 2013.  As always, my goal is to make up my table fee, which I did within the first 1.5 hours.  The extra money that I got will be helpful for when it's time to do some Christmas gift shopping.  The foot traffic was just so-so (and I should have had an inkling about this because I was there last year).  I think because the craft show is in an old house with stairs, it's difficult for people that have trouble walking to get to all the rooms in the house to check out all the crafters.

The lady that had the table next to me (she was selling jewelry) was making conversation and asked me if I do this full-time.  Um, no, I have a "real job."  I almost burst out laughing because it'd take a lot of folding to make enough cards to sell to do this full-time.  I felt kinda bad that I worded it like that because I found out later that doing jewelry was her full-time job.  I hope she understood that I wasn't saying that doing jewelry wasn't a legit full-time job.  I meant that I do this as a hobby and I do have a regular 9-to-5 job.
After wrapping up at the craft fair, I went to my parents' house.  I wanted to hang out with Julie, but she was at work!  When I left the house after dinner, she was still at work!  Sheesh, on a Saturday?  What a bummer. :( At least Ginger was there to hang out with me and watch tv.

Happy Christmas Card

I had a sketch challenge in mind, but when I referred back to the sketch, I didn't have enough room for where I was supposed to put the sentiment.  Time to improvise!  I also decided to revisit using embossing powder in my card since Tuesday's attempts were a total flop.  I like how the metallic trees match with the silver cardstock (you can see it better in person...the picture doesn't really capture the shininess).
Card Specs:
Embossing powder: American Crafts in Pewter
Embossing ink: VersaMark
Ink: Colorbox chalk ink in Blackbird
Stamps: Stampin' Up- Lovely as a Tree, Studio G (sentiment)
Paper: American Crafts- Merrymint
Punch: We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper
Baker's Twine: We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Fancy Floss in Candy Stripe

Candy Crush Update: Level 155.

Holiday Craft Show 1 of 2 is tomorrow!

One more day of work and then Thanksgiving holiday! :D

Domestic Thursday

All the things that were on my to-do list for work I've already done myself or I'm waiting for someone to get back to me.  To make the best use of my time while waiting, I did a whole slew of things today...
  • Paid my mortgage.
  • Gave to the alumni annual fund.
  • Renewed my driver's license. This is a little weird because you can do it online.  I guess they'll just use the old picture and signature, and update the dates on it?  I don't get it.
  • Made a pot of spaghetti sauce.
  • Scrubbed down the bathroom.
  • Did a load of laundry.
  • Did a load in the dishwasher.
  • Put up my holiday wreath.  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
Ahh...the freedom and flexibility of teleworking.  Come January 2014, I'll be back at the office full time Monday through Thursday. :P

I also put in my vacation request for next Tuesday and Wednesday so that I could get a solid Thanksgiving holiday in.
Zzzzz.

Lace Ornaments

I tried 2 cards before this one and they just didn't work out.  My embossing powder was getting everywhere and then I smudged Liquid Pearl on another card.  I was going to give up and call it a night until inspiration struck me at the last minute when I was looking at this Stampin' Up lace stamp.  Ah ha!  Ornaments.  Perfect.

Patience paid off...
Card Specs:
Ink: Colorbox chalk ink in Charcoal, Prussian Blue
Stamp: Stampin' Up- Gossamer Lace, Craft Smart, Inkadinkado- Holiday Expressions
Baker's Twine: We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy Fancy Floss in Candy Stripe

I was watching Emily Eddington's recent favorites video today and she was talking about some cinnamon popcorn from Popcorn Indiana.  I decided to investigate after going to spin class (terrible idea). I walked by a holiday display at Giant, and while they didn't have the cinnamon kind that she mentioned, they did have this peanut butter and chocolate one.  2 thumbs up!

Robyn's Birthday Bowling Celebration

To celebrate Robyn's birthday, she had people (Pat, Jules, Rob, Meg, and myself) come over for dinner (brats and broccoli salad) and then we went bowling.  I bowled 92 the first game and then 88 the second game.  Not too bad since bowling is not really my strong suit!

Being Social

Robyn sent a text on Friday night saying that her coworker was having a birthday get-together for her boyfriend and encouraged her to bring friends. She asked if Meg and I were interested in going. Meg's family was in town for the weekend, so she had to decline. I didn't have any plans, so I decided to tag along. The party was at the Science Club and I met some of her coworkers who were very nice. Robyn said that the coworker that did the inviting looked like Anne Hathaway, and she was right! Most of the time there was spent chatting with another coworker about recent television/movies/books, and the differences between gay and straight weddings (this coworker had been with his boyfriend for 8 years and he didn't mind the slew of questions we asked).

At one point the bartenders took away the birthday guy's present, which was a thing of alcohol.  I was like WTH?!  I told "Anne Hathaway" and she said that she knew they did that because they have a policy against alcohol being consumed that wasn't purchased at the club.  Ok, understood.  I thought they were stealing his present, and that would have been totally uncool!

Hairdo Friday

I saw this milkmaid/Grecian hairdo on YouTube recently (EmJustLikeYou and Samantha Schuerman) and I wanted to recreate it on myself.  I sat in front of the mirror last night, attempting to do it, but I don't think I got it right because my hair's too short.  Fortunately, Julie has longer hair and of course being the little sister that she is, I volunteered her to be my hair model tonight.  I was able to do a better job on her, but I still struggle with tucking in the ends.  She was complaining that I was tugging too tightly, so I had to stop and use a clip to hold everything in place.
At least I can still do a good French braid. :)

Office Order Update

I was so busy with work today.  The whole morning was spent fidgeting with updating a website and the graphics were just not up to par and I couldn't figure out why.  I was determined to figure it out on my own, but then decided it was easier to call the website guy to help me.  Then it was sending out a flurry of emails.  With the 2 focus groups, an in-person meeting, and a program review all happening before Christmas, there is plenty to do and there's only so much that I can do on my end.  Hurry up and wait is the name of the game.

My Human Resources department decided on the balloon birthday card and this anniversary card for their next card order.  The one change they had was to make the background color brighter, instead of brown.  Ok, that's totally do-able.  After shutting down my work computer and feeling frustrated (I still haven't found my hoop earrings...I'm starting to accept that I'll have to find a replacement), I went up to my craft room and cranked out the 25 birthday cards that were requested.  The deadline they gave me was November 22.  I'll definitely be able to turn this order in early.

Good News and Bad News

Bad News: I can't find my hoop earrings.  I've searched everywhere in the house that would be a potential hiding spot and I came up with nothing.  They must be in the house somewhere because I took a picture with them when I got my free t-shirt.  UGH, this is going to bug me until I find them.  Fortunately, they aren't expensive, so they'd be easy to replace with a trip to Target or Macy's.

Good News: I was looking at Twitter last night and I saw this posting about a sticker drive, specifically Stick It To Diabetes.  I collected stickers when I was younger, but the collection has been sitting in a box in my closet.  I figured giving them away to kids that could appreciate them more than I could at the moment would be a good thing to do.

Another good thing from today was that I met up with Morgan, a former co-worker, for lunch to catch up.  I also delivered some oatmeal raisin cookies to Reggie at the office.  Despite the misplaced earrings, it's been a pretty good day.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies and Rejected Cards

One of the administrative assistants at work has been really helpful during this teleworking arrangement, like checking my mailbox and keeping an eye on the fax machine for W9s that were coming for me.  To show my appreciation, I made some oatmeal raisin cookies using this oatmeal raisin recipe that I found online.  Oatmeal raisin cookies are not my go-to cookie, but I knew that they were his.  I usually prefer something that has chocolate.  However, these turned out really yummy and I made sure to save some for myself.
Here are some of the cards that I made last night for the office order.  I didn't like them enough to turn them in as my samples (these are the samples I ended up with), but I know that I'll be modifying them with embellishments so that I can use them in the future.

Crafty Shopping and Office Order Cards

After going to spin class today, I ran a bunch of errands.
  • Petsmart for kitty litter.  Bought 2 31-lb. boxes of the Arm & Hammer brand, with a $2 off coupon in hand.
  • ACMoore.  I saw that they had some Spellbinders dies for $10.  I thought that was the original price so I was hoping that they'd be part of the 40% off deal they were having this week.  Wrong.  $10 was the marked down price.  Left with nothing.
  • Michaels.  Found 2 dies that were $1.29.  I thought they were going to be $3.99, so that was a nice surprise.  My gem supply was running low, so I bought a box of those.  And finally, I found a cute fox holiday stamp.
  • Tuesday Morning. I was on the hunt for some paper flowers after seeing that some people on YouTube had found them there.  I came out with 6 bottles of them $2 each, an American Crafts paper pad, and a set of embossing folders.  I felt a little guilty with these purchases, until I remembered that my Human Resources department contacted me on Thursday, requested 25 birthday cards and 37 anniversary cards.  The guilt quickly dissipated.
My goal this weekend was to come up with a sample card for each type so that I could send it to them on Tuesday for approval.  As always, the gender-neutral nature of these cards is always a challenge.  After a few hours of thinking things through and trying different designs, I settled with these cards.

Busy Saturday Morning with Family Evening

Whew, busy morning...
  • Post office to mail off an Etsy order.  It's been about 2 months since my last one.  The cha-ching notification on my iPhone scared the crap out of me last night when it went off.
  • Library to pick up a movie to watch with Julie later.  I ended up with Thor and Hunger Games.  She hadn't seen either one of them, but I have and enjoyed them both.
  • ATM.
  • Gas. $3.19/gal.  I guess that's a good price.  I dunno.  It's been a while since I've had to get gas for my car because of my current teleworking situation.
  • Target. Ended up with some candy, raisins, and chicken broth.  Nothing on clearance interested me.
  • The spa under Target to get my eyebrows done.
  • Joann's.  I had a 25% off coupon including sale items. I was hoping that they'd have some Studio 112 $1 clear stamps, but I haven't found them yet.  Womp.
  • Grocery shopping...fun times.
I was totally wiped out for the rest of the afternoon, so I camped out on the couch with RJ and a NCIS marathon.
Julie came by later with supplies to make some chicken parmesan.  I met her half way with chicken, bread crumbs, and cheese.  She had tomato sauce and spices.  We also had spinach, which I was happy about because the unopened bag had been sitting in my fridge.  We ended up watching Hunger Games because she wasn't too interested in Thor.

Fall-To Layout #266

Among a flurry of emails yesterday, I got an email from Human Resources requesting 60+ cards.  I would have worked on some samples last night, but I was way too tired to be crafty.  Fortunately, they gave me 2 weeks to work on it, so that's plenty of time.

My co-worker Jennifer also emailed me yesterday, saying that her younger sister had gotten into cardmaking.  She wanted to give her some crafty supplies for Christmas and wanted to see if I had any recommendations.  Oh, yes.  I wrote a lengthy email...a long categorized list of supplies and some links.  I got a reply email that started with WOW! in size 18 font.  I can't wait to hear what she came up with.

Card: Here's my take on Fall-To Layout #266.  I was working on some holiday penguin cards and the first penguin was too big, so I decided to not let the origami embellishment go to waste so I used it for this card instead.

Stamps: Studio G

Quick Trip to Atlanta

For such a short trip, it was so stressful!

Metro was having delays so I was already having heart palpitations on whether I'd be able to get to the gate in time.  I was able to...right when they were boarding first class and Zone 1.  Whew!  The couple next to me was bickering a little, but I tuned it all out by sleeping the whole way there.

When I got to Atlanta, I checked my phone and saw that a bunch of emails came though.  More than usual, and then I realized that it was because Outlook wasn't working yesterday. ARGH!  I noticed one email from the company that we were meeting with today. They needed authorization to attend the meeting since the purchase order hadn't been signed it.  They wanted something on letterhead and I only sent authorization via email.  Ugh, this is horrible.

My next goal was to find wireless Internet after getting off the plane.  I put on my best smile and asked one of the gate attendants where there was wi-fi in the airport.  "Oh, you have to pay for it."  I think he took pity on me for looking defeated.  "Well, here's a little secret, and don't you go telling anyone.  If you get close enough to the Sky Miles Lounge, you might be able to access their wireless."

Woot!  I found the lounge, and of course, my heart sang when my laptop was able to lock in on their Internet.  A half-hour later, I sent off a few emails and was off to find a taxi to get to CDC.

After checking in with the project officers, I went to lunch with my boss.  At the CDC cafe, I say someone that I went to high school with. I saw him a few years ago in Denver at another public health meeting. After chatting for a little bit, I said goodbye so that he could eat his lunch and I went back to sit with my boss.  She was like, "Well, he's not wearing a wedding ring."  OMG, hah.  He's engaged and by the way, just because he's single doesn't mean I want to date him! :P

The meeting with the focus group facilitator and notetaker went well.  We were discussing the focus group guide to prepare for the December 4 focus groups that we're planning.  After the 2-hour meeting, it was off to the airport again.

Left the house at 6 this morning, returned at 9 PM.  Whew.  Long day.

One-Layer Wednesday #165

Here's my take on One-Layer Wednesday #165, where the challenge was to make a holiday card without red or green.  I went with blue, brown and a little bit of silver.
Card Specs:
Ink: Colorbox chalk ink in Prussian Blue and Chestnut Roan
Stamp: Stampin' Up- Christmas Deer, Inkadinkado- Holiday Expressions
Punch: We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper
Other: Liquid Pearl in Silver, Brown Sharpie Ultra Fine Point marker

Tomorrow I'm heading to Atlanta.  I head out first thing in the morning and then come back late at night.  I suppose I could have stayed overnight, but sleeping in my own bed at night is totally worth the trouble.  The funny/weird/eye-roll worthy thing is that I'm going to be spending more time in-transit via car, subway, and airplane than actually in the meeting, which is only 2 hours!

New Nails

Nails: This is two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Quick Jeanious.  It's a really beautiful deep blue, almost bordering on purple.  This was part of the Sally Hansen Fall 2013 line.  I also picked up Jet Set Jade, but returned it last week because it was very close to OPI's Cuckoo For This Color, which I already own.
Snail Mail: My goal from Saturday was to send out 10 cards and I reached my goal!  I'm excited to send them off to folks in the next few days.

Fall-To Layout #265

Spin class: Janice had a substitute today.  At first, I wasn't sure how this class was going to go because you never know with subs.  However, I actually really enjoyed it!  The substitute was an older guy, like a dad figure.  I mean, he needed reading glasses to read the iPhone or iPod that he had music on.  The music was great too.  He was from Boston and was channeling the Boston Red Sox World Series win because the music he had was all related to Boston somehow..."Sweet Caroline", "I'm Shipping Off to Boston", "The Impression that I Get", "Walk This Way"etc.

Food: I made a pot of spaghetti sauce this afternoon.  For something different (or really for cost saving), I cut up a few stalks of some sad looking wilty celery that was in the fridge into the pot.  No need to throw it away if it still looks edible, right?
Fall-To Layout #265: Here's my take on this sketch.  I'm already getting into the holiday spirit and thinking about holiday cards that I want to send out to folks.  Time to get started on those!
Card Specs:
Ink: Stampin' Up in Not Quite Navy and Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Studio G (sentiment), Stampendous- Jumbo Snowflakes
Punch: We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper
Other: Stickles

Fun Snail Mail

Fun snail mail: I posted this on my facebook feed this morning...
I want to try something new for November. These cards have been sitting in a box for the past few months, feeling slightly unloved. I'd like to send them out, but I only have a limited number of snail mail addresses.

If you are interested in receiving one of these cards before Thanksgiving, please Facebook message me your snail mail address. I'll take the first 10 people. Immediate family members and current co-workers are welcome to "enter", but I'm going to limit it to one each for this batch because most of you have received cards from me before, whether through HR or me personally. If this little experiment goes well, I'll do the same thing for December.

A little something to brighten people's days, just because. Don't be shy! Good luck!
I got 6 takers so far.  I'm thinking about reposting tomorrow so that I can get all 10 cards out like I planned.

Trip to Safeway: a new Safeway opened up down the street about a week ago so I wanted to check it out in all its new and shiny glory.  I was also armed with a bunch of coupons that came with a promotional brochure that I got in the mail.  While the store was very nice, I witnessed some not-so-night behavior from adults.  I wanted to ask one of the staff a question about the coupon and before I could get my question out, the woman snapped at me "Honey, I don't know where anything is in the store.  I'm the sample lady."  Geeze, fine.  I'll ask someone else!  Then in the yogurt aisle, a customer was asking a store person, "Is this the variety of yogurt you have?" She was trying to get the store brand yogurt that was in the coupon book.  The guy said yes. "Well, this isn't a large variety." Well, don't bite that guy's head off.  No one said that you had to buy the store brand.  If you want variety like Fage, take 2 steps to the left, mkay?  Maybe these ladies were just having a bad day...

Among the coupons that I had, I was able to get a loaf of French bread and a 24 oz. soup for free!  I also had a buy $50 worth of food and get $10 off.   My heart was filled with joy when I saw the numbers go down down down on the register.  I know...a little weird.  But I love saving money!

Movie: I was able to snatch Monsters University at Redbox today so Julie came over to watch it with me.  It was cute, but I wouldn't say that I loved it more than the first one.  It was still early in the night so we watched Monsters, Inc. too.

Hooray for Friday!

RJ has the right idea...
After turning off my work computer today, I went to the mall...
  • Target to return a nail polish that I already had a similar color of (surprisingly this is the first time this has happened) and a light bulb that I thought I needed but really didn't.  Bought 2 bags of Halloween candy 30% off (Heath and peanut butter M&Ms).  I shared some with Julie to reduce the guilt.
  • Bath and Body Works.  I wanted to get one of those scent things for my car.  I cashed in on their buy 4 get 2 free deal on the car items and with the coupon I had with me, I got a free lotion.  I went with Twisted Peppermint, so now I'm going to be smelling minty fresh for the next 2 months.
  • Macy's was decked out with holiday stuff already.  Man, they are quick!
  • Went to Costco and got 2 slices of cheese pizza.  I went to my parents' house to share the pizza with Julie.
