CrossFit Class and Spinning

I made it to 6:30 AM CrossFit this morning, whoo hoo!  Gotta represent since Julie is currently doing work stuff in California for the next 1.5 weeks. Lots of shoulder work and pull ups...killer.

Somehow I mustered the energy to go to spin class tonight too. There was a full class, and I wondered why that was. Maybe people wanted to get back to their exercise routine since the county schools started up today too?

After the gym, I made my family rounds...aunt's house, my parents' house, my aunt/uncle's house. My aunt had her tooth pulled on Friday, so she wasn't feeling completely 100% and then my uncle had a really bad cough. How are they supposed to go to Canada for another vacation in 10 days? I feel like they just go back from Alaska!

Rest Day and Broccoli Salad

I took a much needed rest day today. To RJ, every day is rest day.
I was trying to figure out what to eat for food this week, and as I was scrolling through the Safeway insert online, I saw that broccoli crowns were on sale. Ah, perfect. The only broccoli salad I've had was Robyn's, so time to make my own! This was the recipe that I followed. Financially friendly and delicious!

CrossFit Class and Alexandria Restaurant Week

I made it through this morning's CrossFit class, yay! I did wake up hella sore though, especially my quads and my back from Leg Day, which included deadlifts. Today's workout included lots of push presses, wall balls and running. Yeah, I was ready for a nap when I got home!

I met up with Meg and Robyn for dinner. We went to the Wharf for Restaurant week, and it was delicious as always. It was nice to catch up since we haven't hung out together as a trio since April. The brownie batter Oreos that I bought yesterday were a hit, but I left them at Robyn's place so that I wouldn't be tempted to eat the rest by myself.

Day Off and Leg Day

Whoo hoo, day off!

First order of business, Day 28: Leg Day. Oh, my quads. So many squats and deadlifts. -_-  There was a Crush workshop happening in New York City today, and it was cool to see the pictures roll in with all the smiling faces. I hope they decide to do a DC one at some point.

I had ambitious plans to go to the mall after the gym, but nope, that didn't happen. I went to Safeway to get something to eat after the gym, went home to shower while my sheets were in the wash. After they dried, I promptly put them back on the bed and passed out. It's tough to resist fresh sheets. RJ must have felt the same because when I woke up, he was sprawled out on his back in the other direction, basically a mirror image of me, hah.

After dinner, I went over to Target to grab a thing of brownie batter Oreos to take with me when I go see Robyn and Meg for dinner. I also bought some new fine point Sharpie markers and a thing of Edy's Frozen Custard (vanilla) to try. You know, for science.

I hope I'm not too sore to enjoy CrossFit class tomorrow morning. I signed up without Julie's stalking text reminder. I got the last spot too. Whew!

Shoulder Day and Spin Class

Today was Day 29: Shoulders. Whew, that was tough. I mean, it got to a point where I had to use 5 lb weights for the side raises and even then I could feel the burn. I went home to feed RJ and then went to the other gym to go to spin class. Sweat, sweat, more sweat.

One really nice thing that happened today was that 2 people (my coworker Jennifer and the spin instructor Nancy) both made comments about the change in my appearance. Aw, so many feels, ha ha. YAY, the workouts are working! :D

CrossFit and Sad Day in News

Julie sent me a text message last night. "You haven't signed up for class tomorrow." Gawd, crazy stalker! -_- Ok ok, I've signed up. Geeze.

Good class today. I learned how to do a clean and jerk. Anddd we had to do 30 of them during the timed part of the workout. We also did pullups, so tough!

I decided to switch my telework day from Friday to today and take Friday off. My phone went off and I noticed a Twitter notification that something had been retweeted by several news outlets. Hm, something's up. Must be serious. It was news that there was a reporter and her photographer that had been killed during a live broadcast. WTH?! That's so sad and wrong on so many levels. I had the news on all day as the police tracked the killer. I think the fact that he died from his self-inflicted gunshot wound makes it worse because he won't be brought to justice. And then later on today, the Smithsonian released news that the smaller of the baby pandas died. UGH, no more bad news please. This is enough!

I went over to my cousin's house tonight to say bye to my uncle who is leaving to go back to Taiwan tomorrow. They informed me that my parents were going to go back to Taiwan in December. What? No one told me that! How am I the last to know about this news?! At least they will be here to celebrate Christmas before they go on their second vacation of the year.

Happy Anniversary, RJ and Sick Day

Today is our 4 year anniversary together! Hah, I know how silly that sounds, but it's true!
To read from the beginning, August 25 2011 was his first day.

I didn't have the best start to the day. I was going to take something for cramps (TMI...), but I noticed that the expiration date on the Advil at home was June 2015. I took some from the office first aid drawer, but by then, it didn't seem like anything would help. I worked for about 1.5 hours before calling it quits and telling my boss I had to go home. Fortunately, I don't live that far away from the office and I just crawled back into bed until about 2 PM. I mustered the energy to go to Safeway and get some food and then jump back onto my work computer since I had the energy. I wanted to catch my boss for any last minute things before she goes on vacation for 2 weeks starting tomorrow.
I hope I feel better by tomorrow morning. I told Julie that I would go to 6:30 AM CrossFit. Eeek!

CrossFit Workout and Non-Scale Victory

RJ woke me up at 5:15 this morning and instead of going back to bed, I made the best of my morning and went to 6:30 AM CrossFit. I think Julie was surprised to see me because I only decided this morning that I was going to go. Her evil plot of converting me and getting me to join the gym full time is working. I think she and RJ are teaming up. If she gives him treats the next time they see each other, I know they are in cahoots with one another.

The workout includes some sumo deadlifts (80 lbs!) and lots and lots of burpee box jumps. I had to really concentrate on those box jumps because I didn't want to miscalculate and crack my head open on the box. That would be a sh*tty way of starting the day.

At the office today, I worked with Jacob to send out 49 reports out with an attachment and an email mail merge. My heart was racing because of excitement (the survey project started back in Fall 2014) and fear (OMG, what if this doesn't work?!). I didn't get any emails from the recipients, so I'm assuming everything went fine!

As for a non-scale victory today, I brought out these black capri pants that I haven't been able to wear in about 3-4 years. Today, I wore them to work. :)
"Thank goodness, I didn't die!"
Mom left Julie a note about Harry.

Double Dose of Cardio

Double dose of cardio today: 8:30 AM spin class and Day 26 (Performance). In between the two, I went to Costco right when it opened. I grabbed a container of strawberries and grapes and made a beeline for the checkout. Yay, no line! I came home, lunch, fell asleep (sorry, not sorry), but then mustered the energy to go to the gym for today's Crush60 workout. Tabata squats = NO FUN! :P

Now for an evening of lots and lots of laundry...

Brunch with Friends and Arm Day

I skipped out on CrossFit this morning to go to brunch with some friends from grad school, Jessie and Jenny. Instead of going to a local diner like we did last time, we went to Cafe Deluxe (Jenny's suggestion). I had the French toast and it was delicious! When Jenny mentioned the restaurant at the beginning of the week, I promptly looked up the menu to see what they had to offer. I've basically had my eye on the French toast all week. It totally lived up to expectations. There was lots to catch up on, and before we knew it, 2.5 hours had flown by!

I went to the gym in the afternoon for Day 25: Arm Day. I mentally winced when I reviewed the workout, but slowly but surely, I got through it. I also went to Safeway afterwards to get some groceries. Doing that after Arm Day probably wasn't the best idea. Everything seemed heavier than usual! I decided to get some taco meat ingredients. I texted Julie to see if she wanted to come over to help me eat it. She came with chips.

Coworker's Last Day, CrossFit Happy Hour and New T-Shirts

I usually telework on Fridays, but Sadira's last day was today and I wanted to give her a proper goodbye and hug. I picked up some Junior Mints from CVS yesterday for her because that's her signature "I'm stressed" snack and I know the next few days are probably going to be stressful with her getting on a plane on Monday to move back to California. It'll be weird to not seeing her sit across from me next week.
Team Selfie!
The CrossFit gym that Julie and I go to was holding a happy hour at Del Frisco's Grille. Julie and I decided to go and hang out for a little bit. It was cool to meet some other CrossFitters. It seems like everyone has their class that they go to, so you don't get to meet other members unless you go to events like this. Everyone was so nice and friendly! Julie got a beer and I got something called the VIP: Sweet Hawaiian Pineapple-Infused Svedka Clementine Vodka. Yum!

After happy hour, I dragged Julie to Target. I picked up 2 new t-shirts on sale (Julie got a Jurassic Park one) and some ice cream. Double yum! Not bad for a rest day! :)

CrossFit Class and Happy Hour

I planned a happy hour for my coworker who is leaving on Friday for today, and I knew that I wouldn't have the energy to work out afterwards. I planned ahead and went to a 6:30 AM CrossFit class with Julie. The toughest part was getting out of bed. The workout wasn't as hard as last Saturday's with all those wall balls. Maybe this will be a regular Wednesday thing. Julie says that her plans to convert me into a CrossFitter is working (insert evil laugh). Ok ok. But first, I need to finish Crush60.

After class, I was starving! I wanted to eat everything in sight! I was already thinking about happy hour even though it was many many hours away. When 4:30 PM hit, Sadira and I walked over and had drinks and got some food (I had chicken tenders with fries and she got potato skins).

After happy hour, I actually went over to my cousin's house today to see what his, my aunt's, and my uncle's reaction would be. My aunt was like "It's good to be girly!" Then I went 2 houses down to my parents' house since that test run went pretty well. I didn't call attention to the nose piercing, but she noticed it when we were talking. She grimaced and rolled her eyes "Don't you have enough piercings already?" and walked away to take a shower since she was doing yardwork when I came in. My sister was in the kitchen at the same time and said something to the effect of "Wow, she took it a lot better than I thought!" Whew.

I'm going to take a rest day tomorrow and Friday and then back to crushing it on Saturday.

Weird Dreams and Spin Class

Ugh, I had some really weird dreams last night. They involved getting into a verbal fight with a friend and then her also telling me that her parents were getting a divorce. o_0 Too bad there isn't a reset button. I'm really hoping for some restful sleep tonight.

I didn't let the morning funk get to me though. I cranked through a lot of my to-do list at work: 1 contract, 1 session proposal and 2 poster abstracts. It's a race to get a bunch of things done because my boss is leaving for vacation in a week and I don't want some of these things to wait until she gets back on September 9 (?!).

Because Sadira is leaving, I got pulled into two future meetings. I already had a planning meeting about it last week when I was in Atlanta, but then I got pulled into a committee meeting that's happening in September. The email from the director said "You know we will feed you." My boss told me they'll probably invite me to the committee dinner that night, "You can network with members you haven't met before." Sure, that sounds great, but really, I just want to eat.

WILL WORK FOR FOOD.

I was feeling uninspired on what to have for lunch, so I went to Safeway with Reggie. I ended up getting some soup and a large sub from the deli. I was hoping that no one was going to be around as I came up the elevator and was going to put the sub in the office fridge. Nope, no luck there. I definitely got some raised eyebrows and of course, Reggie had to call attention to it. "Look at Tina's big sub!" Hey, don't be jealous. I think it's more economical to get the sub which will last longer than something you'd get at Potbelly.

I took a break from lifting today, but I did make it to spin class. I told Julie that I'd go to CrossFit Wednesday morning, so we'll pick things back up tomorrow (har har, get it?). I arranged a Happy Hour for Sadira on Wednesday after work and I know my motivation for going to workout afterwards will be slim to none, so it'd be best to get it out of the way at 6:30 AM tomorrow. I never thought I'd say that...EVER.

Hm, I think I see some shoulder muscles coming in. :D

Weight Loss, Day 24 and Card for Coworker

This morning started off on a surreal note.

Still half asleep, I decided to step on the scale this morning out of curiosity. I was shocked with what I saw: 148.1. I squinted in disbelief. I even went to get my glasses and step back on just to make sure it wasn’t just my imagination. Nope, still the same number. For context: my highest weight was 159 in April 2015. I was at 153.6 on Day 2 of Crush60 (July 2, 2015). I haven’t been below 150…in forever. Seriously.

It’s really rewarding to see hard work pay off! This picture actually made it onto Crush's Instagram which is awesome, too. I think the thought bubble was a nice touch, hah.
Today was a back workout. I got through about 80% of it before the crowd, went home to feed RJ, went to spin and then finished the remaining exercises after spin. So tired....
One of my coworker's last day is on Friday. Kara and I went to CVS to buy a card for the office to sign for her, but we didn't like any of the ones that were available. So, before bed, I made one instead.

Spin Class, Inside Out and Day 23

8:30 AM spin class, check!

I made a deal with myself after I got home: you can go see Inside Out but you have to do Day 23’s workout right after the movie. The gym is around the corner from the theater. No excuses!

The movie was so good! It was really well done and touching…I had tears streaming down my face towards the end. I highly recommend it! I can't say that I was as much of a fan of the Disney short film that played prior to the movie. I thought the singing volcanoes were creepy.

The movie was on my mind when I was doing the workout. For example, “Disgust” was probably the main player during my time at the gym. So. Much. Sweat.  “Joy” made an appearance too…Yay, endorphins! Yay, I did it! And, oh yeah. Then there's "Anger." "Ugh, I have to keep pulling up my pants during these line jumps." "Ow, my abs." "*wheeze* This is hard." "I'm so hungry!"

I had to take longer breaks during the line jump/burpee sets because they were no joke. That’s ok though. I’ll get better at them next time.
"Mmhm, I see you over there eating dinner. Yeah, thanks for not sharing. I'll creepily stare at you instead."

CrossFit Class and New Piercing

CrossFit Class: Ahhh, so many wall balls at today's CrossFit class. I originally had a 10 lb. ball, which was fine for the first round of 10, but then with 20, the trainer asked if I wanted to trade and he handed me an 8 lb. one. Those 2 lbs really do make a difference, but it was still hard because the amount went up by increments of 10. Whew!

New Piercing: The thought of getting my nose pierced started last year around my birthday. Every time I thought about it, I would chicken out because I was scared of the pain. The thought has been resurfacing lately, so I rewatched some YouTube videos and reread some Yelp reviews of tattoo/piercing places. After I cleaned up from the workout this morning, brought RJ home from my parents' house, I went to gas up my car, got money from the ATM and went to the tattoo place (Tattoo Paradise in Wheaton, Maryland).

The shop was small, but clean and the front desk guy was friendly and was patient with answering the questions that I had about the jewelry being used, the price, the aftercare, etc. They asked me to fill out a form, so I did and paid for the piercing. They asked me to have a seat, while they set up in the back. The piercer (who wasn't the front desk guy), at first glace, would be very intimidating. He had multiple piercings, stretched earlobes and some tattoos, but he was friendly and explained the process, which put my mind at ease. He marked the spot, asked me to check it, asked me to lay down...breath in, breath out, anddd DONE!  There was no time to worry about anything because the process was so fast! All things that I was worried about from watching the YouTube videos didn't even happen. I didn't tear up. I didn't bleed. It didn't hurt when he threaded the jewelry through. Easy peasy! Sheesh, I should have done this a while ago!

Does this still count as impulsive if I've been thinking about this for a while?

Is it weird that I'm wondering what my mom is going to say?  Heh.

Rest Day and The Longest Ride

Hooray, rest day. My shoulders were kinda sore from yesterday's chest workout anyway, and I'm going to CrossFit with Julie tomorrow, so this was perfect timing. After my telework day was over, I ordered a pick-up order from Panera, leaving time to get some other things done there while I waited. I picked up another pair of workout capris because it's still tax free week and I had a $10 off coupon (they came out to a little over $11, yay!). I also got my eyebrows cleaned up and walked around Target.

By the time I did all that, my food was ready. I used a Redbox code from this morning's email to rent The Longest Ride. I hadn't read the book, but I had seen Scott Eastwood do some promotions for it when the movie originally came out. What a hottie, ha ha. The movie was good. Classic sappy Nicholas Sparks.

Atlanta and Crush60: Phase 2

I got this text from my sister this morning. Glad I didn't get the 4 AM wake-up call! He's going to hang out at my parents' house until Saturday and I'll grab him after CrossFit class with Julie.

The trip to Atlanta was productive. The meeting started at 8 AM and went to about 1 PM. The original end time was supposed to be 2 PM, but we were really efficient in getting through our agenda. This was great because we could all head to the airport and the CDC folks could have some time to do emails before their big meeting at 2 PM. I was able to get on standby for an earlier flight, but then that flight got delayed. I didn't end up getting to my parents' house that much sooner. Oh well, not much you can do!

I raided the fridge at my parents' house, gave RJ a see-you-later hug and then went to my own place. I charged my phone and unpacked and then thought, "Hmm, it's around 8:30 PM. Let's go to the gym!" I know, super weird. Not anything that I would have said before since I probably would have faceplanted onto my couch or bed after coming home. I figured I should use the energy that I have to good use. I originally thought I was going to start Phase 2 on Friday or Saturday, but nope, I did it today. Wow, I thought my arms were going to give out during those tabata push-ups at the end. Ugh. Good way to end a busy day though! :D

CrossFit Class and Atlanta

I didn't really sleep that well last night. I don't know how I every managed to sleep on a twin mattress. And it's not even that I need that much rom to move around since I'm already short. I guess since I'm used to my full bed, it's tough to go back. I just couldn't get comfortable.

I was pretty much a zombie walking into CrossFit class, but I managed. I definitely woke up during the jump rope warm up. There were some shoulder press sets and then 200 m x 8 rower sprints. My shoulders definitely got a work out!
Dad dropped me off at the Metro on his way to the pool. I tried to get some restful sleep on the plane, but the little kid next to me kicked me several times when he was trying to get comfortable for his nap. Fortunately, he wasn't fussy so I gave him a pass. I met my boss at baggage claim and then off to CDC for an afternoon meeting. We finally got out at around 6 PM, made a beeline for our favorite Chinese food restaurant and then headed to the hotel to check in. I basically inhaled my chicken lo mein. I'm definitely ready to go to bed. Breakfast is at 7:20 tomorrow morning and we're meeting some other CDC folks at 8 AM. Blah. Oh well, I get that some of these things are best done in person anyway.

Crush60, Phase 1 Progress Pictures

In honor of Transformation Tuesday, I wanted to post some progress pictures before heading to work. Obviously the changes between February and today are much more noticeable than the ones from June to August, but I think it all counts. The scale hasn't really moved dramatically, but I'm okay with that. Progress is evident in other ways.
  • I've had to take my belt in a notch.
  • My work polo, the one with my company's logo on it, I put it on yesterday, and it was too baggy! I got a replacement one today, size M instead of L.
  • 2 of my work pants are too baggy. They don't have belt loops so I can't really wear them anymore. This is a really, really surreal feeling because usually when I retire clothes, it's because I've gained weight.
Work went a little later than I expected, so instead of going to lift, I went home to pack for tomorrow's business trip to Atlanta. My flight isn't until 1, but in order to get a good parking space at the Metro, you have to get there early. Ugh, that'd be way too much time at the airport just sitting around. I'll stay at my parents' house tonight and one of them will drive me to the Metro in the morning. Plus, it'll give me time to hang out with RJ, if he's feeling up to it.

Since I'm at the house, Julie was like "Let's go to CrossFit tomorrow!" Class is at 6:30 AM. UGH. Fine. This little break from Crush60 will be fine because it'll give me some time to do a little homework on the exercises since it'll be new stuff.

Checking Consultant's Crappy Work and Performance Workout

A member contacted me on Thursday, saying that she had some feedback on the online course we hired a consultant to work on. Apparently there was a lot of feedback that each page of the online course was printed out and feedback was handwritten. Period here. Word replacement here. Incorrect term here. I was scared to open the FedEx package this morning because I wasn't sure how much damage was done and more importantly, how long it would take me to type up the feedback that was handwritten. Even though every page of the online course was printed, not every page had a change made to it (thank goodness!). It did take a good 2 hours for me to comb through everything, type it up and make sure that I caught everything. Ugh, the consultant will not be getting repeat business!

Needless to say, I was ready to go to the gym after work today. Just to get all the frustration out. I finished Day 21's workout (lots of crunches and squats). Phase 1 of Crush60 is officially complete, YAY! It's difficult to comprehend that I've made it through a third of the program already. I went from doing workouts with weights at home to venturing to the weighted section of the gym, sometimes being the only female lifting amongst the sea of testosterone. Sure, sometimes it's intimidating (I'm 5' 3" so basically everyone is taller than me), but it's getting to a point where I feel like, "Hey, I have a right to be here just like everyone else!"

After the workout, I went to the other gym for spin class. Man, I'm beat!  Zzzz...
I called Mom earlier this evening to check on RJ. "Was he a good boy today?" Mom said that Julie asked her the same thing when she got home from work. "Why does everyone keep asking if he's a good boy? Of course he is!" No, Mom, he's got a naughty reputation...maybe he's just good around you.

New Workout Capris and Facetime Session with Page

Ugh, I was definitely feeling yesterdays' Leg Day workout this morning. I was sore, but not sore enough to skip out on going to the mall and taking advantage of a coupon and Maryland Tax Free Week. Bah ha. At least I got some steps in during this rest day. I have 2 pairs of capris that don't fit well anymore because they are kinda saggy! o_0  I went to JCPenney and got 2 new pairs that were already on sale, I had a 15% coupon and they were tax free! I picked out a dark blue pair and a very loudly colorful one. The pattern reminds me of fire/lava.

The cashier forgot to remove the security tag from the pink tights, so I walked out and walked to DSW and set of the alarms. Oops. I promise I'm not a shop lifter! I went back to the store to get it removed because I think if you tried to do it yourself, ink will get all over you.

I dropped RJ off at my parents' house this evening and also went to my cousin's house to drop off his birthday present (a BBQ utensils set and an extra set of 4 kabab skewers). That way, he has his own set, instead of having to borrow my parents' (not that they have a problem with it).
My friend Page Facebook messaged me this evening, and we had an hour Facetime session. It was nice to catch up; it's been a while.

Leg Day and Music of John Williams Concert

Julie and my cousin went to pick up his parents and my parents at the airport at 6 AM this morning, so Julie wasn't feeling like going to CrossFit and I didn't want to go by myself. I ended up going to the gym and doing Day 20's Leg Day workout instead. Oh, man. Those traveling lunges and drop sets, ow ow ow.

After an afternoon nap and shower, I went over to my parents' house to visit and eat dinner with Julie. I claimed a Five Guys burger from when I helped her man the Random Acts table a few weeks ago. Mom told us stories from their Alaskan cruise.

For a little fun, Julie and I went to Wolf Trap for the "Music of John Williams" concert. The place was packed, even the lawn! They started out with the theme from Raiders of the Lost Ark, one of my favorite movies. I also really enjoyed the music they played from Jurassic Park, Home Alone and Harry Potter. So good. The last few songs were from Star Wars, but we didn't stay too long for those because we wanted to beat the traffic getting out of the venue.

Mass Exodus at the Office

Another coworker put in her 2 weeks notice. I knew this was coming because she had told me a while back that she wanted to move back to California to be closer to family. She's the sixth person that'll be leaving in the past 2 months. Meanwhile, I'm approaching my seventh year work anniversary in October.

I needed to get some steps in, so I marched myself to the gym this evening. I made myself a deal...you only have to be there for 30 minutes and then you can go home. I did 15 minutes on the elliptical and then ran on the treadmill for the other 15 minutes. I was kinda surprised of how crowded the gym was on a Friday night. Anyway, afterwards, I walked around the block to DSW and browsed. I saw that boots were coming out...fall is just around the corner!

National Root Beer Float Day and Shoulder Day

Today is National Root Beer Float Day.

Oh, yes.  There is such a thing. I got an email from Human Resources today informing me of this news. And even better, the department bought several cartons of vanilla ice cream and bottles of root beer so we could make our own. I'm not a huge fan of root beer so I was happy to have some ice cream at the end of the day, after my 2 PM conference call.

My boss informed me that after adjusting the budget, she was able to find some funds to pay for my cell phone. Hmm. That's cool.  Well, I'll have to tell Dad when he gets home from vacation since my phone is still under the family plan.  Heh.

Day 19: Shoulders, done! Spin class, check! I wasn't sure if I'd be able to hold myself upright on the bike when standing up. With the arm and pool workout from yesterday, I was kinda sore today, but I mustered the strength to just keep it moving. I have the Leg Day and Performance workouts left and then Phase 1 of Crush60 will be complete, which is nuts!  Time flies when you...sweating like crazy.

Oh, and I'm loving the Jaybird earbuds that I bought yesterday. Definitely money well spent.

Day Off: Arm Day and New Earbuds

Whoo hoo, day off! It was really productive too.
  • Went to the gym after breakfast and cranked out Day 18's arm workout. Blah.
  • Went to Costco to get some groceries. The cashier gave me crap about using my mom's membership card. "Are you on the membership account?  Memberships aren't transferable." Blah blah blah. Ok, ok. I'll check with my parents when they get home from vacation.
  • Went to Best Buy to return the Plantronics earbuds (they kept slipping out of my ears when I'm on the treadmill, so annoying! And I didn't think the battery life was anything special) and pick up a set of Jaybird ones. Hopefully third time's the charm. We'll see tomorrow. (I know I said I would wait to see what the raise situation was at the office, but I told myself that I need these for the gym)
  • Went to the pool in the evening. I debated on going to the community outdoor pool, but the last time I went, there were kids coming in and out of the lap lanes. I ended up going to the Aquatic Center that I used to have swim team practices. I got a lap lane to myself in the deep end, so that was really nice. Whew, I'm out of practice, but I made it through 30 minutes before I gave myself permission to get out. Maybe it's because I had already done an arm workout earlier in the day. I was proud of myself for doing a few 100 m IMs. :D
I finished watching Gone Girl earlier this evening. Wow, that was 50 kinds of messed up! Well done, but way too creepy to watch ever again.
