One-Layer Wednesday #25

I was in an emotional funk on Monday, and I didn't make it to spin class. And I was feeling super guilty about it. I felt compelled to make it up today. So in an effort to get to the gym, I decided to pack up my gym stuff and go to the gym RIGHT after work (the one around the corner from work, but not the one that I spin at). I actually felt great leaving the gym (50 mins of cardio, wheee!), knowing that I made a commitment this morning to go to the gym after work and stuck to it. Saying that I would do this every day would be a stretch, but maybe if I just tell myself to go and worry about just that one day, then the goal of getting to the gym more often doesn't seem so lofty. I was also inspired by the newest member of the Joy Fit Club on The Today Show: Ben Davis from bendoeslife.com. I encourage you to check out his site. He seems like he's a cool, funny guy.

Oh, I also ate some strawberry cream cake AND apple pie today at a co-worker's goodbye potluck. It was yummy and motivational (see paragraph #1) and totally worth it.

This week's One-Layer Wednesday (#25) challenged us to use two of the following images on our card (+ a sentiment): flowers, trees, birds, and bees. I went with flowers and a bird. I wanted the images to be colorful, but I purposely stamped the sentiment in black ink to make it stand out among the paler colors. This card is going to one of my friend's mom to brighten her day; she needs some support right now.

Card Specs:
Ink: Colorbox chalk ink in Rose Coral, Wisteria, French Blue, Aquamarine. StazOn in Jet Black.
Stamp: Inkadinkado (all)
Punch: We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper
Other: Glossy Accents

Song of the day: "Ain't Nothing Wrong With That" - Robert Randolph & the Family Band. Heard it at spin last night and I can't get the beat out of my head. I need to download it to my mp3 player for when I go running.

This is such a pretty card. I like how you made the sentiment the focal point with the bird pointing towards it. Lovely!
