Tahoe, Day 4: Sequoia Fail

When we were planning for this trip, Robyn suggested going to see some sequoia trees.  Big Tree Grove in Placer County looked like a good option.  That was the plan for today.  That was about 3 hours away from where we were staying.  Ok, let's go!

What we didn't count on was the smoke from the surrounding fires. About 2.5 hours into the drive, the smoke was getting really bad, both to breathe in and for the visibility. Eventually, we had to make the executive decision to turn back to be safe.  Being stuck out there is not the way to go because it's not like someone can easily save you if you're stuck on the mountain!

We got lunch on the way back and went back to the Bijou Park to get our Fitbit steps in.  Sigh, oh well.  Safety first!

Gosh....no matter which way you go, you run into smoke, sad. Least you are getting to see some beautiful scenery....are there wine tasting places to visit?? I would love to do something like that. Well, enjoy your time there....I might be making some more potstickers....I am hopelessly hooked!!! This 1st batch did not last long.
