I had a minor panic moment this morning when I realized that I had no hot water in the house! I thought it was a fluke thing when I took a shower last night, but alas, that was not the case. I called the home warranty people to schedule an appointment with the plumber. After I made that call, I did some research via Google to see if there was some quick fix. I already switched the fuse off and on, but nothing happened. I took a break to do some work, go to the library, and do some grocery shopping (the fridge was very sad looking since I had been on travel the past few days). I continued my research and then I found out about the reset button. I switched the fuse off, pushed the red button, switched the fuse back on, and then I could hear the tank making noises. Within about 30-45 minutes, I was back in business!
Whew.
Now I need to call the plumber to cancel my Wednesday appointment.
I have my first outdoor market craft fair tomorrow. And there's a 60% chance of rain. Ugh. I'll try to stick it out as long as I can since the table fee is non-refundable. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Mother Nature is kind to me.

Good for you...I would have called the plumber right away too. But glad you found the remedy and saved some money. Oh the joys of home ownership.
I had a hot water heater that quit at work...not sure that it had a reset...but turning it off allowed it to reset.
