'Cause I'm All Alone

Donkey from "Shrek": Cause I'm all alone. There's no one here beside me. My problems have all gone, there's no one to deride me. But you gotta have friends...

Mmmmyeah. Everyone's gone. Spring break is over, so my sister and cousin have gone back to school. Meg and I dropped Page off at the airport this morning. I said my goodbyes to Meg's family last night. Sighhh. It has been a good weekend though, and I'm very fortunate to have such awesome people in my life. :) Cue warm fuzzies.

Stuff that's not long enough to get their own paragraph:
  • Happy birthday, Mom! I got her a nice bouquet of flowers. She's simple like that.
  • Funny cat video from Laura (and her mom). Thanks for the laugh!
  • Inspiring story from The Washington Post a few days ago. Visit his blog.
For tonight's card, I wanted to use one of the clearance stamps that Page had bought for me as a birthday gift during the trip to A. C. Moore on Thursday. I was really drawn to the leaf background stamp because it looked versatile. I had some butterflies leftover from a custom order a few weeks back; I thought it went well with the nature theme. I tried a new method of knot tying that I saw on YouTube (I wish I remembered what the link was) where the woman tied a knot around her finger, took the loop off her finger and then cut the loop to make the tails of the finished knot. I like how the knot lies flat better than other knots I've made for cards. I was going to heat emboss the sentiment on the bottom, but the knot was in the way a little so I put at the upper left. Thanks for the stamp, Page...I love it!

Card Specs:
Ink: Colorbox chalk ink in Lipstick Red, StazOn in Olive Green
Stamps: Inkadinkado- Gardenia (leaves), Fiskars- Just Between Friends (sentiment)
Paper: My Mind's Eye- Bloom & Grow (butterfly)
